Pegasus Configuration for SpamAssassin

If SpamAssassin is set up on your mail server (like mail.your-company-name.tld); you can set up your mail client to filter out spam messages, based on headers that SpamAssassin adds to each message.

IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind that non-spam messages could end up in this folder and spam messages could end up in your Inbox.

  1. Launch Pegasus Mail

  2. Select Tools -> Mail filtering rules -> Edit copy-self filtering rules...

    Select Tools, then filters

  3. Click on the Add rule button

    Add Rule

  4. Click on the Headers... button

    Select Headers...

  5. In the Edit a Standard header rule page, proceed with the following:
    1. Place a check next to Subject in the first section

    2. In the Contains this text section, type in the words [POSSIBLE SPAM] (exactly as you see it here, case sensitive)

    3. In the Then do this section, select Move from the dropdown box

      Edit Rule

    4. Click on the Set... button and new window should open

      1. In the Select a mail folder window:

      2. Click the New... button

        Create New Folder

      3. Type in Spam as the name of the new folder

        Name Folder Spam

      4. Click OK and this will take you back to the Select a mail folder window

    5. Double click the Spam folder and this will take you back to the Edit a Standard header rule window

      Double-click Spam Folder

    6. Click OK

      Exit Rule Editor

    7. Click on Save to save the rule

      Save Rule

    8. Click on Close

      Close Rule

    9. New (marked) messages will now be saved into the folder Spam. You can view these messages by opening (double-clicking) the folder called Spam

      Inbox

IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind that non-spam messages could end up in this folder and spam messages could end up in your Inbox.

To help us improve the accuracy of the SPAM filter please keep all spam in the SPAM folder, if you have any mail that was incorrectly identified as SPAM please move it into the Inbox.
