DSL Configuration - Actiontec Router, Static IP

Configuring the Actiontec 1520 modem in PPP mode for 1 IP address (/32) address:


The configuration for 1 static IP address is the same as it is for dynamic addressing. The difference is that our Radius server will assign your static IP address to your CPE each time you log on.


  1. Open your web browser and press your web browser's Stop button
  2. In the address bar enter the ip address of the Actiontec. By default it's
  3. You should get a screen that at the top says Actiontec.
  4. Click on Setup / Configuration
  5. Click on Begin Basic Setup
  6. Setup Screen - click on the Next button
  7. Broadband Connection Screen-
    1. Leave PPPoA selected
    2. Click on the Next button
  8. DSL Broadband Connection - PPP Screen-
    1. Set User Name to your login name
    2. Set Password to your login password
    3. Set Static IP to the IP Addresses specified on the Welcome Letter
    4. Click on the Next button
  9. Save and Restart Screen-
    1. Select Save and Restart button
  10. Wait for the modem to save your settings

Actiontec 1520 Notes

  1. The reset button on the back of the DSL Actiontec modem or the Utility Menu can be used to restore Default Settings.

  3. The /32 Static IP services requires NAT routing on DSL Actiontec modem. Use of DHCP on the modem is highly recommended. Using NAT with DHCP, the customer PC or PCs are configured to obtain an IP address and DNS server address automatically via DHCP from the DSL modem. In this case, is used to access and configure the modem.
