Configuration

  1. Open up Outlook Express 6

  2. Click Tools from the Main Menu and Select Accounts from the pull down menu

    Select Tools then Accounts...

  3. Click Add then select Mail...

    Select Add, then Mail...

  4. Type in your first & last name in the Display name: field, click Next

  5. Refer to the Welcome Letter that was faxed to you and type in your Email Address in the Email address: field, click Next

    Enter your email address - click Next

  6. Select POP3 as the server type and specify popmail.real-time.com as the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server: and mail.real-time.com as the Outgoing (SMTP) server: and click Next

    Specify server type, enter server names - click Next

  7. Refer to the Welcome Letter that was faxed to you. Enter in your Username in the Account name: field and your Password in the Password: field (the Remember password box is optional) and click Next.

  8. Click Finish

    Click Finish

  9. Left click on popmail.real-time.com so it is highlighted, then click on Properties

  10. In the Properties window, make sure Mail Account is popmail.real-time.com. Place a check in the box next to Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing. Click on the Servers tab to continue

  11. Under the Outgoing Mail Server heading, place a check mark in the box next to My server requires authentication Click on the Advanced tab.

  12. Place a check in the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) box under Incoming Mail (POP3): heading (the Port Number automatically changes to 995.) Place a check in the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) box under Outgoing mail (SMTP): heading, then click Apply, and then click OK

    Modify Advanced settings - click Apply

  13. In the Internet Accounts window, click on Close

    Click Close

If you see a "verified security certificate warning" while checking for email with Outlook Express 6 and would like to avoid the warning message each time, please proceed to the SSL Certificate Import page.
