Thunderbird - Importing Outlook Express Emails and Addressbooks

In the main Thunderbird window, click on Tools and then Import...

The Import screen will launch, click on the Address Books radio button and click on Next

Click on Outlook Express and click on Next

Once it is done it will display that it has finished importing the address book, click on Finish

This brings you back to the main Thunderbird window. Click on Address Book to verify that your address book has been imported.

In the Address Book screen, the third option is now Outlook Express Address Book. If you click on it you will see your contacts. Click the X to close this window.

To import the emails stored in Outlook Express, click on Tools and then Import...

Click on the Mail radio button then click Next

Click on Outlook Express and then click on Next

Thunderbird will display a summary of all the messages that were imported, click on Finish to go back to the main Thunderbird window.

Click on the little plus next to Local Folders on the left hand side. You will notice that there is now a Outlook Express Mail folder. In this folder are all the messages that were stored in Outlook Express.
