Hylafax Client Configuration - Windows 2000

Windows (Redmond) configuration for Windows 2000

  1. Click on Start -> Setting -> Printers

  2. Double-click Add Printer

    Click on Add Printer

  3. Click Next

    Add Printer Wizard, Step 1

  4. Choose Local Printer, deselect Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer then click Next

    Select Printer

  5. Select Create a new port: and select Redirected Port as the Type, click on Next

    Select Printer Port

  6. Leave the default Port Name of RPT1: and click on OK

    Designate Redirected Port

  7. Choose the Apple LaserWriter 12/640 PS and click Next

    Specify Printer

  8. Change the Printer Name to Linux Hylafax select No and click Next

    Name Your Printer

  9. Leave default Do not share this printer and click Next

  10. Click No for a test page and click Next

    Print Test Page

  11. Click Finish

    Finish

  12. Click on Start -> Setting s-> Printers

  13. Right-click the Linux Hylafax printer icon and select Properties

    Access Printer Properties

  14. Click on the Ports tab

    Select Ports Tab

  15. Click on the Configure Port... button

    Configure Port

  16. Click the Browse Button

    Browse to w2hfax

  17. Navigate to C:\Program Files\w2hfax, select the w2hfax.exe application and click Open

    Open win2hfax

  18. Enter printdialog into the Argument for this program are: field and click OK

    OK Print Properties

  19. Click Close

    Click Close

  20. Click on Start -> Programs -> Hylafax -> w2hfax

  21. Change Server: to <server_name>

  22. Change User Name: to <username>

  23. LEAVE the Password: field BLANK!

  24. Click OK

    Setup Login

If you did everything right, you should have the Hylafax Client window on your desktop. If you look at the bottom tab of the windows, you should see this:

HylaFAX scheduler on <server_name>: Running
