Installation and Configuration

 

  1. Download and Install the latest version of Eudora from
    http://www.eudora.com/products/eudora/updater1.html

  2. Open Eudora and go to the Eudora Application Folder. Double-click the Eudora application icon.
  3. Click on the Special menu, then click on the Getting Started icon in the left column
  4. Refer to the Welcome Letter that has been faxed to you and enter in the following information on the Getting Started Settings screen:
    1. In the Username: field, enter your Username
    2. In the Mail Server: field, enter popmail.real-time.com
    3. In the Real Name: field, enter your first and last name (as you with it to appear in the sender line of your outgoing email)
    4. In the SMTP Server: field, enter mail.real-time.com
    5. In the Return address: field, enter in a different email address if need be
    6. Click OK
  5. Click on the Special menu, select Settings
  6. Click the Checking Mail category icon in the left column
  7. In the Mail Protocol: field, select POP
  8. In the Authentication: field, select Passwords
  9. Click OK to save your changes

Composing a New Message

  1. From the Message menu, select New Message
  2. Type an email address in the To: field
  3. Press Tab to move the cursor to the Subject: field and type in a subject (optional)
  4. Press Tab three more times, unless you want to Cc (carbon copy) or Bcc (blind carbon copy) someone
  5. Compose your message
  6. Click Send.

Manually Checking for New Mail

  1. Click on File and choose Check Mail
  2. Enter your password if necessary
  3. If there is no mail, a "no mail" alert appears. Click OK
  4. If you have new mail, Eudora transfers the messages one by one and then displays the "new mail" alert. Click OK.
  5. Double-click a message summary to open the message or read the message in the preview pane.

Automatic Mail Checking

  1. From the Special menu, select Settings
  2. Click on the Checking Mail category icon
  3. Click the check box for Check for mail every ___ minutes
  4. In the text box, type the number of minutes (example: 15) between automatic mail checks
  5. Click OK
