Configuring the Actiontec M1000 modem in PPP mode for 1 IP address (/32)
address:
The configuration for 1 static IP address is the same as it is for dynamic addressing. The difference is that our Radius server will assign your static IP address to your CPE each time you log on.
- Open your web browser and press your web browser's Stop button
- In the address bar enter the IP address of the Actiontec, by default it's http://192.168.0.1
- A page should load, showing the General Status
- Click on Quick Setup tab
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the link, Click here
for advanced settings only if required by your ISP
- The Advanced Setup screen should appear
- Select the following:
- Step 1
Select: PPoA Place a check in front of, PPP Auto Connect
- Step 2:
Enter your PPP User Name and PPP Password (see
Account
information
or
Welcome letter for this)
- Step 3:
* Select Single Static IP Address *
In the Single Static IP box, enter the address provided to you (see
Account
information or Welcome letter for this, it should start with: 216.243.156.xxx) *
If required, for the
subnet
mask,
enter 255.255.255.255 * If required, for the Default Gateway Address,
enter the address that was provided to
you (see
Account
information or Welcome letter for this)
- Step 4:
* Select Static DNS addresses * Primary DNS: 65.193.16.1 *
Secondary DNS: 208.20.202.1
- Step 5:
Leave VC-Mux (Default) selected
- Click Apply
- The screen will display a "Thank You" page
when
the process is complete
